This causes the B-lymphocytes to produce IgG immunoglobulins that specifically target the antigen. The mammal's serum is used to purify this polyclonal IgG. In Western blots, ELISAs, IHCs, and other quantitative immunological tests, they can be employed as primary or secondary antibodies.
